Are you an avid gamer? Do you love playing against your friends, but sick of split screen? I personally love playing offline with friends, its part of what gaming is all about. However I must admit sharing a screen in split screen mode can sometimes be a hindrance, especially with certain types of games, like racing games such as Forza or a first person shooter like C.O.D. The inevitable screen watching occurs, as well as numerous arguments and petty fall outs between mates.

With this technology, two players can play the same game at the same time, and each see their own independent full-screen view.

LG have brought the joy of split screen gaming back, minus the cheating that inevitably goes with it, with its Dual Play technology. Split-screen gaming has enabled players to compete against each other on the same machine since the early days of consoles, popularized by games such as the original Goldeneye.

LG’s passive Dual Play mode, which was made available on 2012 TVs with passive 3D, enables two people to play on the same screen and is presumably compatible with any console game that includes a top-bottom split screen. With LG’s Dual Play enabled and the special Dual Play glasses, the company says players see two discreet, full-screen images, as opposed to the traditional split screen.

As you can see from the above this is incredibly kool and may revolutionise gaming as wee know it and bring out a more social side of gaming that has been neglected some what in recent years. What do you think of LG’s idea, will it catch on? Is this a huge step in gaming or another gimmick to enhance sales? I know what I think, but what do you think? Let us know, leave your feedback below and please share 🙂
